Restoration of 100 Historic Trailside Amenities throughout
the Palos and Sag Valley Divisions, over 12,000 contiguous
acres, that were constructed by the Civilian Conservation
Corps. (CCC) estabilished in 1933 by the Roosevelt Administration
to help alleviate widespread unemployment and privation
caused by the economic depression of th 1930's.
The Amenities are sprincled over 31 miles of multi-use
trails, used by hikers, mountain bike riders, equestrians
and cross country skiers. They were originally constructed
using local flagstone and are of exeptional craftsmanship.
For Cook County North Groves Restore sheters and comfort
stations( 2.3 million) founded by the Illinois 1st deffered
maintenance Program.
